Teen Co-ed Sleepovers - Do You Allow Them?
One comment: "I certainly agree with the other comments, however I would like to mention another trend...boy/girl *platonic* sleepovers. I have 2 close friends who have both hosted one, but the teens are separated in different rooms to sleep and have plenty of adult supervision during the night (my one friend and her hubby spent the night in sleeping bags at the entrance to the girl room-no one tried anything). My other GF and her friends hosted their party on PROM NIGHT, so the kids had a safe place for an after party without renting a hotel room! Again, it was very well supervised, parents of multiple couples hosted the party together. I just thought I'd mention a variation."

Baby Products

Newborns

Infants 3-12 Mos.

Toddlers 1-4 Yrs.

From Heather Corley, your Guide to Baby Products
Every once in a while, it's good to go back and look at the very basic items every baby needs, and to help parents-to-be figure out where they should start with their baby gear shopping. Even though I've been a parent for almost 10 years now, I find myself consulting lists and checking buying guides to make sure I have what I need for the little one we're expecting. I think the problem for experienced parents is that we know too many awesome baby products and we want all of them!

Basic Baby Needs Checklist
Looking for a bare essentials list of stuff baby needs in those first few weeks? This is it! There's nothing fancy on this list - just the things that let baby eat, sleep and travel safely right from the start.

What To Buy When You're Having a Baby
This second list includes the non-essential items that most parents like to have for their new baby. These items will add convenience (or cuteness) to your life with baby.

Products You Don't Need for Newborns
Since most of us are on a budget when we buy stuff for the new baby, it's nice to know which baby gear items you can wait to buy. These products aren't necessary for newborns, so you can save your money, and your storage space.

Choosing a Coming Home Outfit for Baby
Sure, the other baby stuff is important in the long run, but what everyone else will remember is which adorable outfit you chose for that first baby picture! Not all baby clothes are created equal, though, so take a look at these tips for choosing a sweet and comfortable outfit for your newborn. Here's a hint - steer clear of "dry clean only" labels!

All about manquer
The regular -ER verb manquer means "to miss," but can cause confusion because it is sometimes used in an unusual construction. Does Tu me manques mean "I miss you" or "You miss me"? Find out here - don't miss this lesson on the confusing French verb "to miss."

H in French
The always silent French letter H comes in two varieties: H muet and H aspiré. The type of H at the beginning of a word lets you know whether to make contractions and pronounce liaisons with that word. Check out my lists of words with each type of H and then see how well you do with my quiz.

French terms used in English
Some French vocabulary has been so completely absorbed by English that speakers might not realize its origins. Other words and expressions have retained their "Frenchness" - a certain je ne sais quoi which speakers tend to be much more aware of. Take a look at this list of French terms commonly used in English and then try the quiz.

Common mistakes and difficulties
There are numerous French characteristics that cause confusion for many if not most students of French. This page includes links to areas of common mistakes and difficulty to help you overcome these issues once and for all.
