From Heather Corley, your Guide to Baby Products
There have been a few new recalls lately that I want you to be aware of. Thankfully, none of these recalls affect huge numbers of products or consumers, but if you have just one recalled baby product in your home, your child could be at risk. That's why it's important to check out all recalls, to be sure you can repair or replace as needed. This week, I'm also including links to a CPSC warning and a non-baby-product recall. Why? Because smoke alarms and pool drains can certainly affect your baby's safety, even if they're not made specifically for your little one.

Zooper Strollers Recall
These Zooper strollers are recalled because the incorrect spacing between the snack tray and the stroller seat could allow an unbuckled baby to become entrapped by the neck. If your baby is riding in a Zooper stroller, you may need to order a repair kit for the snack tray or armrest bar.

Beeni Baby Hats Recalled
This is a perfect example of a small recall that won't get a lot of media attention. However, if your baby is wearing a Beeni Baby hat, it's pretty important that you know about the aspiration hazard it poses.

Dream On Me Crib Recall
More than 10,000 of these wooden shaker musical instruments are recalled, in both the U.S. and Canada. The handle can detach, leaving a rough edge that can cut little fingers. Also, when the handle detaches, it can expose small parts that pose a choking hazard.

Stroller Safety Tips
This week's stroller recall also shows the need for more stroller safety awareness. Yes, manufacturers should design strollers to meet safety standards, so that babies cannot become entrapped. However, parents should also use the stroller harness to keep baby in place. After all, with the proper spacing on that snack bar, an unbuckled baby is going to fall out of the stroller entirely.
