Adoptive Parents Charged with Theft after Fraudulently Receiving Adoption Subsidy
11-year-old Adam Herrman has been missing for over a decade, but no one knew he was missing until December 2008, when an adoptive sister tried to make contact with him. Authorities discovered that the adoptive parents, Doug and Valerie Herrman continued to receive adoption subsidies to care for Adam - they were charged with theft and that seems to be just the beginning.
