Money Saving Tips: Back to School Sneaker Sales Are Coming!
Back to school sneaker sales are wonderful for parents of teen athletes. Many sneaker sales are buy one get one for half price, which is an awesome deal when you have to buy a different pair of sneakers for basketball, baseball, cleats for football, etc. Considering these shoes can cost $40.00 to over $100.00, you really can save a bundle if you go to the store prepared with a list of what your teen will need for the whole school year. So, take five minutes with your teen and make that list!

Note of caution: If your teen is due for a growth spurt, you'll want to wait until their season starts before buying their shoe wear.

How To Talk to Your Teen About Dating
When your teen begins to show an interest in dating, you'll want to iron out how you feel about it. Besides the 'my daughter isn't dating until she is thirty' thoughts that will run through your head, there should be some serious thoughts about how you would like to see this dating thing work out. Not that it will work out according to that plan, but a road map is always good to follow when facing uncharted territory. After you've done this - and taken a deep breath - you're ready to talk to your teen about dating.

How to Help Your Teen If They Are Cutting
If you suspect your teen is deliberately cutting, follow these steps to initiate discussion of self-harm, support her in getting the help she needs and help her learn more effective coping methods.

It's Time to Start Buckling Down for College Students
While your teen may want to be wild and free for a week or so more, leaving for college is right around the corner and preparing for it should also be a priority. One way that will help with motivation and give your teen an edge this year is the book How to Become a Straight-A Student. Now, do not turn away from this book if you feel there is no way your child will ever see an A in college. While the book helps students strive for that goal, it's teachings on organization and time management will aid every student. I recommend this one highly and feel the author, Cal Newport, has done an excellent job.
