From Heather Corley, your Guide to Baby Products
We've enjoyed a long stretch of mild temperatures here, so now that the weather is getting chilly, I feel pretty unprepared for keeping the family warm. Luckily, where I live, the most prep I need to do for the baby is find a fleece coat and make sure I have blankets to lay over him in the car. What are you doing to get ready for winter?

Winter Coats and Car Seats: A Dangerous Mix
It's one of the most common car seat errors I see during the winter - a tiny baby strapped into the car seat while wearing a giant puffy coat. Learn why you should avoid thick clothing in baby's car seat, and alternative ways to keep baby nice and toasty.

Buying a Winter Coat or Snowsuit for Baby
There are lots of cute options for baby's winter outerwear. Warmth appropriate to your local weather is a key consideration, but you'll need to be sure you choose something comfortable for baby, and remember that you may need to change a diaper or two on the go.

Winter Car Seat Covers
If your baby is in an infant car seat, a shower-cap style cover, or another type that goes over the top, might be a good choice for warmth this winter. Here are some car seat covers that work without compromising safety.

Snuggie for Kids as a Car Seat Blanket
I keep a stash of fleece blankets in my car during the winter just in case my older kids get chilly and want to snuggle up. Some parents have also started using the Snuggie for Kids blanket in the car as a quick and easy way to warm kids up without interfering with seatbelts and car seats.
