From Wayne Parker, your Guide to Fatherhood
April seems to be a month with a large number of special days of interest to fathers and families. And each of these days represents a good opportunity to spend quality time with our children and teach them about the things we think are important in life.

April 19-25 is Turn Off TV Week
In the average US household, the television is on for more than 7 hours per day. Turning off the TV and focusing attention on your family can pay significant dividends. Find the courage to turn off the television and tune into your family

April 22 is Earth Day
Earth Day is a great opportunity for dads and children to learn more about the environment and what we can do to protect it.

April 22 is Take Your Son and Daughter to Work Day
Each year, the Ms. Foundation sponsors Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day in an effort to help our children prepare for and appreciate the world of work. Find out how to make this opportunity a positive experience for your son or daughter.

April 30 is Arbor Day
Arbor Day is also a fun day to share ideas about protecting the environment. Steve Nix, About.com's guide to forestry, has a host of ideas for learning more about Arbor Day and celebrating it with your family and your community.
