Teens Giving Underwear as a Birthday Gift, Appropriate?
A mom asks: "Do you think it appropriate for a 16-year-old girl to give a 17-year-old boy cartoon boxers as a gift for his birthday?"

Denise's thoughts: "No, I don't think it's appropriate. Intimate wear as a gift is for intimate adult relationships - cartoon or not. She is new on the dating scene as far as she is a teen, she needs to learn what is appropriate and what could make a young man uncomfortable with her ease of intimacy. Getting a gift of underwear could make a young man uncomfortable and his parents angry. We had this happen with my daughter's one girlfriend. She did something similar and ended up losing her prom date."

Asking our parenting community: Do you think it is appropriate for teens to give underwear as a birthday gift? Please share your thoughts, experiences and advice in the comments area.
