From Carrie Craft, your Guide to Adoption
The holiday season can always be a bit stressful for foster and adoptive parents as the holidays often bring up family memories for children. Share how you handle the holidays with other families!

How Do You Prepare Your Foster Children for the Holidays

Holidays are usually centered around "family." Yet, foster children are separated from their families and are reminded of family at almost all holiday gatherings. Add on the fact that holidays are also an extremely busy time of the year and you may have a great recipe for chaos.

So, how do you go about preparing your foster children for the holiday season? How do you keep sanity at family parties? Share your foster parenting tips and sanity keeping secrets with the rest of us.

A Favorite Adoption Gift that I have Received or Given.....
Please take a moment and share a favorite adoption gift that you have received or given to another. It doesn't matter the recipient - whether the adoption gift was for the adoptive family, the birth family, or the adoptee. It doesn't matter the occasion - the child's adoption day, National adoption month, Christmas, Birthday, Mother or Father's Day. Please share!

How Do You Handle Food Issues in Your Home?
The holidays usually mean a lot of food, what with numerous family dinners! Food issues can range from food hoarding, gorging, bulimia or anorexia, to even just extremely picky eaters. Food issues can be a challenge for foster and adoptive families, so share how you have tackled these food issues in your home.
