Last week, the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a new set of recommendations advising parents to keep kids in rear-facing car seats until age 2 and in booster seats until they are at least 4' 9" tall (which kids typically reach anywhere from age 8 to 13). Also in the news: Clarifications in the Florida school fracas that made headlines when some parents protested the school's nut-free policies to protect a student. And, with the promise of warmer spring weather around the corner, outdoor games and ways to celebrate Easter and Passover, all in this week's Parenting School Age Children Newsletter.
