From Laura K. Lawless, your Guide to French Language
Whether you find understanding written French easier or more difficult than understanding spoken French, there's no doubt that reading and listening are two sides of the same coin. Here are some ways you can practice and improve your French reading skills.
Reading
French Reading Comprehension
Work on your French reading comprehension with these assorted exercises. Each one includes a story or article, study guide, and test.

French Newspapers and Magazines
Read newspapers and magazines from the francophone world. One good exercise is to read an article in French, then find an article on the same topic in English to get an idea of how well you understood the French

Literature
There is some truly excellent French literature out there - why read the translation when you can read the real thing?
