Teaching Your Teen to Comparison Shop
Comparison shopping is a learned behavior. If you are not a planner before you go out shopping for something you need, you will purchase things that cost more money and make impulse buys. As parents we not only want to do better than this, we want to teach our teens better shopping habits then that.

So, when your teen needs something like a basketball sneakers when your athlete's season starts, supplies for a science project or just school clothes shopping, have them come to you with three different prices for the same item. Ask them what they think is the best deal and why. Listen to what they have to say and guide them towards purchasing for the best deal available for them. This is a good shopping habit that you will want your teen to have as they become young adults.
