Heavy Drinking in Older Teen Years Continued Into Adulthood?
Findings of a new series of studies have found that higher alcohol consumption in late adolescence lead to higher alcohol consumption in adulthood and is associated with long-term alcohol problems including dependence. The findings published in the Public Library of Science journal by Department of Public Health and Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Half of the studies used in these findings were conducted in the United States.

More and more parents are given evidence that we need to help our older teens keep themselves from taking their experimentation into drugs and alcohol to the next level. I wonder what would help us do this? I mean besides law enforcement enforcing laws on minors drinking, adults not chuckling and telling college binge drinking stories or other parents hosting parties where drinking is allowed as long as 'everyone' stays.

Seriously, it's time. We, as a society, are smarter about drugs and alcohol now. It's time we stand our ground and let our kids know they have to wait until they are legally old enough to drink and until then, the answer is no.
