I often hear two sides to this issue. Some parents have no problem trusting their teens to stay home when they are away for the weekend, some would never dream of doing that. It just goes to show that teens, parents and families can be as different as their fingerprints. A view I've always held. Here is a parenting contract for your personal use that you can print out. Teach teens to not carry cash - and you may want to adopt this money saving tip too! If you find yourself carrying cash, you'll also find you spend all of it because it's there. The old adage is true, when you don't have it in your pocket, you can't spend it. And if your teen leaves the debit card at home, they will really not spend anything. Now if they know that they are going to the movies, have them take the exact amount they will need, so they will not be tempted to spend the rest.
