Teen Son Gives Up on School and Family
A parent on the forum is looking for advice: My son turned 18 in December and decided to leave home 2 weeks ago. Come to find out he has been doing drugs (unknown what kind). Has pawned everything he loved. Hanging out with kids that we don't really know. He was really involved in church and went to private Christian school the last 4 years. I had to switch his cell phone over to another cell phone because he was going through the minutes. I haven't talked to him in 5 days and he had promised to call daily and hasn't. He was to graduate in 2 months and he is throwing that all away. I don't know what to do can someone please help me?

Denise's thoughts: I am sorry you are going through this. I suggest keeping in touch with him as much as possible. He is calling the shots right now, but letting him know that you will be there for him when he needs help getting back on his right path will help.

Asking our community of parents of teens: Have you gone through something similar with your teen? Please share your thoughts, advice and experiences in our comments area.

Your Teen Told You They Are Not Graduating. Now What?
A teen who has to tell their parents they are not graduating is usually ashamed and depressed and your reaction could make it worse. Therefore, when your teen first tells you they are not going to graduate, give yourself some time to get over the shock before you react to the news.

Easter Ideas for Your Teen's Basket
We get our girls things that they will need for the summer, usually something we will end up buying anyway like beach towels, shorts or a bathing suit. But I strive to get some cool accessories, like funky flip-flops to go with the other needed items. Find over 100 great ideas for your teen's Easter basket.
