From Carrie Craft, your Guide to Adoption

I didn't think about it until a friend pointed it out to me, but we adopted our sons during National Adoption month. But unlike many families, it wasn't done intentionally. Do you do anything special to celebrate National Adoption month? How about your adoption day?

All About National Adoption Month
National Adoption Month focuses on not only adoption, but adoption from the foster care system. Is there room in your heart and home for one of the approximately 123,000 children in the United States foster care system waiting for an adoptive home?

Celebrating Adoption Month Week-by-Week
A new way to celebrate adoption month, with a week-by-week break down of activities and lessons. If you receive this through email and missed a lesson, here is a way to back up and pick up what you might have missed. New material and ideas and opportunities for you to share.

Sign Up for RegDay for an Opportunity for Adoption Reunion
November 13, 2010, will mark the next RegDay. Volunteers set up booths out in public areas, such as libraries, and hand out ISRR applications and free information on adoption searches and reunions. the International Soundex Reunion Registry (ISRR) was developed with the idea of providing a means for families that have been separated due to divorce, adoption, or foster care to reunite. ISRR is a mutual consent adoption search registry, meaning that for the registry to work, each adult (18 and over), has to have registered with ISRR in order for a match to be made.
