From Heather Corley, your Guide to Baby Products
There's another new baby gear recall to report today, but before you panic, take a look at the details if you own a Britax Chaperone infant car seat. Not all recalls require returning the whole product or finding alternate products to use.

Britax Chaperone Infant Car Seat Recall
The chest clip is the reason for this new recall. Specifically, the plastic on the clip is too brittle, which means it could break. You'll need to check your model number and the manufacture date to see if your car seat falls into the recalled batch. If it does, though, the fix is easier than you may think!

What Is a Chest Clip?
In my work as a child passenger safety technician, I see a lot of misuse of the chest clip. In fact, I jokingly refer to it as a "belly clip" since that's where I usually find it when I peek into a vehicle to begin a car seat check. The chest clip is an important piece of your baby's car seat, though. Find out why it should be up on baby's chest instead of way down on the belly.

Common Car Seat Errors
The low chest clip isn't the only common problem I see as I'm checking car seats. You've probably heard that more than 80 percent of car seats are used incorrectly. Check out these common misuses and see if you can find a way to make your baby just a little safer on the road today.

Have Your Car Seat Checked for Safety
Parenting can be a little overwhelming at times, especially when it comes to safety issues. Luckily, there are car seat experts all over the country who can help you figure out the specifics of your baby's car seat and your vehicle.
