Fast-food companies spend billions of dollars annually in an attempt to lure kids to their products. This past week, legislators in San Francisco banned toys from unhealthy kids' meals. Researchers at Yale, meanwhile, reported that kids as young as 2 are being bombarded with fast-food ads. The message: We must do a better job of protecting kids against the idea that unhealthy foods are something desirable. Also in the news this past week: a new study showed that America is stressed, and kids are all too aware when their parents are feeling tense. Plus, the excitement over the latest Harry Potter movie is building. Will your kids see it?

Our Kids Know That We are Stressed
We are stressed out, and our kids know it, says a new survey conducted by the American Psychological Association. The online survey, which evaluated 1,134 adults, including 100 parents with kids between the ages of 8 to 17, found that as many as 51 percent of people reported living with "moderate" stress.
