This week, my heart goes out to the parents of Ollie Kai Hebb, a 21-month-old who died after falling into the family washing machine. It's a tragedy. I wish the best for his family.

Stories like this, unfortunately, can make us feel anxious about all the possible ways our little ones can be harmed. It's important to remember, though, that you are not powerless. There is a lot you can do to keep your toddler safe. Accidents may still happen, but being aware and vigilant can go a long way to reducing your child's risks of getting injured.
