From Heather Corley, your Guide to Baby Products
Crib recalls have been plentiful in recent years, and one of the most common reasons for recall has been drop side failures. This is a big enough problem that we're already seeing a phasing out of that crib style by manufacturers, and the manufacture and sale of drop-side cribs may soon be prohibited by law in the U.S. If you're still using a drop-side crib, it's worth checking often to be sure the hardware is still in good shape, and you may want to consider switching to a fixed side crib soon.

Graco Drop-Side Cribs Recall
Graco is the most recent member of the drop-side failure recall group. Several styles, in three finishes, are included in the recall, so take a look at the list of affected cribs to see if your baby could be at risk.

Simplicity Crib Recall
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced a new recall of Simplicity baby cribs. These Simplicity cribs are recalled because the metal mattress support frame can collapse and allow a gap to form where a baby could be trapped. This is actually the second recall covering these cribs, since Simplicity drop-side cribs have had hardware failure problems, as well.

Gap Baby Swimsuits Recalled
These Gap baby swimsuits are being recalled because the halter straps are too short, and that could allow the little ring at the neck to press against and possibly obstruct baby's airway.

McNeil Recalls Several Baby/Child Liquid Medicines
If you have any infant Tylenol drops, children's Tylenol liquid, infant Motrin drops, children's Motrin liquid, children's Zyrtec liquid or children's Benadryl liquid around your house, take a look at the list of recalled products from McNeil. Although the manufacturer says there's little chance of health risks with this recall, consumers are still advised to stop using these recalled products.
