Get Creative with Fruit
If you want your kids to eat more fruit, try getting a bit more creative, says a new study. In a Dutch study of 94 children between the ages of 4 and 7, researchers found that when the kids were offered fruit served in a visually attractive way -- such as by skewering grapes and apples with flagged cocktail sticks -- they ate almost twice as much fruit... The Trick to Getting Kids to Eat Veggies
Does it seem like getting your child to eat more veggies is a never-ending battle? The solution may lie in...wait for it...giving your kid more veggies. Researchers at Penn State conducted a study in which they served lunch to 51 preschoolers on four different occasions. They gave some of the kids carrots as a first course before their lunch of pasta, broccoli, applesauce and milk and gave the rest no appetizers. The researchers observed that the overall vegetable consumption nearly tripled in kids who were given carrots before their meal.... Read more
