Save Money in Your Teen's Gas Tank Does your teen own a car? If so, teach them to save money on gas using these simple tips and tricks to keep their car running at top performance and by following the rules of the road: Keep the oil and filters changed regularly - every three months. Check the oil every other time you gas up. Have your car tuned up with every inspection. You may even get a deal on the price with your mechanic. Check the air in the tires every month. Don't carry around a trunk full of stuff if you don't need to. The less the car weighs the better the gas mileage. Drive the speed limit as gas mileage. The slower you go the more gas you save.
