From Heather Corley, your Guide to Baby Products
The first time my daughter slept through the whole night, I woke up in a panic and rushed to make sure she was OK in her crib. I've since learned that scenario is incredibly common for new parents. There's a whole segment of baby products out there that are aimed at improving sleep safety, to help ease our fears. However, CPSC, along with FDA, recently released a new warning about the use of infant sleep positioners, saying the benefits of these products don't outweigh the risks.

CPSC Warns Against Infant Sleep Positioners
According to CPSC, a few babies have managed to turn themselves over despite the use of a sleep positioner. When that happens, the baby's face may end up pressed against the positioner, and the baby can't roll back into a safe position.

Top Safe Sleep Products
Babies don't really need much to get a good night's sleep. Their sleep space should be firm and free of fluffy extras that might pose a suffocation hazard. Here are some suggestions for creating a comfy and safe spot for baby to snooze.

Before You Buy a Used Crib
A used crib is a great way to save some money on the nursery. However, you need to take extra care when considering a used crib, because there are additional risks to using older cribs.

Crib Recalls: What To Do
Though there aren't any new crib recalls to announce this week, there have been plenty in recent months, so many parents are still trying to figure out a safe sleep space for baby. A crib recall can be confusing and frustrating for parents, who are rightly worried that their baby may have been in danger. Here's what to do if you suspect your baby's crib may be included in a recall.
