Introducing Our Troubled Teens Writer: Kathryn Rudlin, LCSW
Please join me in welcoming our new contributing writer at the Parenting Teens site at About.com, Kathryn Rudlin, LCSW. Kathy will be focusing on articles and resources for our parents of troubled teens. As a social worker, writer and parent, Kathy is a passionate advocate for teens, believing they need strong adult role modeling and support during their important transition into adulthood. Kathy has worked with adolescents in a variety of settings which include juvenile probation, psychiatric hospitals, foster care, group homes, residential treatment programs, diversion programs and wilderness therapy. Her interest in this age group initially began after watching a 60 Minutes profile on teen runaways, and then volunteering at a shelter for kids living on the streets. Currently, she educates parents and mental health professionals on ways to positively impact teenagers and is a freelance writer living in San Diego.
